Was born in 1948. He is a member of the Russian Academy of arts (RAA), the professor of workshop of monumental painting of Institute of I.E.Repin of the RAA, the deserved artist of Russia, the Winner of the State premium of RSFSR. He graduated from Institute of I.E.Repin of the RAA in 1973 on workshop of monumental painting under a management of academician A.A.Myl'nikov. He is awarded with the Gold medal of the Academy of arts and diplomas of the ministry of culture of RSFSR.
He is a member of the Union of artists since 1975. He is participant of all-Union, republican and international exhibitions (more then 300). In the co-authorship from V.Suhov, N.Fomin, and I.Uralov participated for last three decades in creation of the most significant products in the field of monumental art of Saint Petersburg, among which are mosaics of the Memorable hall of the Monument to heroic defenders of Leningrad, mosaics of stations of underground " Dostoevskaya", "Ozerki", "Street Dybenko", "Krestovsky island", a cycle of mosaics of National Russian library, picturesque products for hotels "Astoria", "Europe", "Saint Petersburg", Nevskij Palase Hotel etc., a memorial "Falling" in. Zelenogorsk, and also he works for a range of temples of Saint Petersburg and other cities of Russia, including the Temple of the Christ of the Savior in Moscow.
Creative interests and opportunities of the S. Repin are diverse. His creativity testifies to uncommon art talent. In easel painting he successfully works in various genres (a landscape, a portrait, a subject picture) where successfully combines picturesque and graphic receptions with optimum using opportunities of color.
